How to get a $75 Saks Fifth Avenue promo card with $150 purchase
For the last several years, one of the very best Black Friday deals has been when Saks Fifth Avenue allows you to receive a $75 bonus promotional gift card with a $150 order when you buy eligible items and use a code. This year’s code is HELLOBFSF.
You can only grab this deal online from Nov. 22 to Nov. 24, and the promo gift card will be eligible for use from Dec. 10 to Dec. 24. It’s a one-time-only use code per person. Even better than getting a $75 promo gift card with a $150 purchase is that you can stack the deal to make it more beneficial.
Here’s what you need to know about the Saks Black Friday deal and how to get $225 in Saks purchases for as little as $85 out of pocket.
Saks $75 bonus gift card from Black Friday order
The promotion terms are as follows:
- Online shoppers should use code HELLOBFSF at checkout.
- The offer is valid in-store and for online purchases at Saks from Nov. 22-24.
- Certain brands and items are excluded from the promotion.
- Promotional gift cards are valid Dec. 10-Dec. 24 and can be redeemed both in Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online.
- The deal is limited to one gift card per person.
The promotional $75 gift card was sent via email last year with the subject line “Your Saks Fifth Avenue Gift Card,” and mine arrived in late November. We’ll update this part as we learn exactly how it will be handled this year.

Use your $50 Amex Platinum statement credit
If you have The Platinum Card from American Express, you can use an up-to-$50 statement credit valid at Saks Fifth Avenue every six months. Your second credit of the year expires Dec. 31, whether you use it or not, so today is a great day to use it to stack these savings.
Here are details on how that Saks statement credit works, but essentially, you need to activate that benefit in your Amex account and then pay for your order with your Platinum card. If you still have a $50 statement credit to use, you should get it posted back to your Amex account automatically. Enrollment is required.
What to buy at Saks
Yes, Saks has $5,000 dresses and other humorously priced items, but there are still some other options that are nice but not insane. Here are a few items and brands I’ve enjoyed at Saks over the years to get you started:
- Dagne Dover, large Dakota backpack, $161.25 (normally $215)
- Dagne Dover, Ace Fanny Pack, $71.25 (normally $95)
- Aviator Nation, Velvet Stripe Joggers, $170
- Beyond Yoga, Spacedye Commuter Joggers, $84 (normally $120)
- The North Face, Box NSE Logo Hoodie, $60
- The North Face, Aconcagua 3 Down Vest, $160
- The North Face, Women’s Extreme Pile Pullover Jacket, $112 (normally $160)
- Dagne Dover, Large Landon Carryall, $161.25 (normally $215)
Putting it all together
Let’s say you found $150 in Black Friday sale-eligible items you want. Add the promo code to get the $75 promotional Saks gift card, and you should see it in your cart if it worked correctly. Start your Saks purchase at Rakuten for 10% cash back today. You’ll pay Saks the $150 and get $15 cash back in your Rakuten account.
If you use an Amex Platinum with a $50 Saks credit to pay, you’ll drop your effective price by $50, all the way down to $85 after the $15 cash back. Factor in that you’ll get a $75 promo certificate, and you’ve spent $85 in cash for $225 in goodies from Saks.
Hopefully, what you are buying is discounted to make it an even better overall deal.
If this is the way you get something like the Dagne Dover backpack that I’ve owned and loved for years, then you’ve done really well indeed.
